Welcome, Nila Gopaul!

We are delighted to announce that Nila Gopaul, the editor and publisher of The Westcoast Reader, has agreed to join our Board of Advisors.

Nila brings a deep experiencing working with non-native-English speakers and adults with limited literacy. Her publication, The Westcoast Reader, has been publishing for over 35 years, and in paper form it now reaches over 125,000 readers in 300 communities in British Columbia. The newspaper is published from September to June by Capilano University with assistance from the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education and Pacific Newspaper Group, publishers of The Province and The Vancouver Sun.

Nila has generously agreed to donate some of her time to helping The Daily Panel grow. Welcome, Nila!

Welcome, Alexandra Lescaze

The Daily Panel is proud to welcome Alexandra Lescaze to our Board of Advisors.

Alexandra Lescaze is the Executive Director of the Sydney Hillman Foundation. An award-winning documentary filmmaker, her first film, Where Do You Stand? Stories from An American Mill, told the story of the 25-year effort of North Carolina textile workers to organize a union in the face of modernization and globalization. Her latest film, All of Me, about a group of women who undergo weight-loss surgery, premiered on PBS Independent Lens in 2014.
